Pastor Monté L. G. Dillard, Sr.
“But I certify you, brethren that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by revelation of Jesus Christ.”
Galatians 1:11-12
Pastor Monte’ L. G. Dillard, Sr. is a man who was seemingly born with odds opposite his favor. Born to teenage parents, it appeared that nothing good could come out of this very complex
situation. However, what appeared to be a victory for our adversary was in essence an opportunity for God to do something so great that only He could get the glory for.
Pastor Dillard was born and raised in Gary, Indiana and faithfully served First Church of God Gary for many years in many different capacities. He diligently served the Senior Pastor, the late Rev. Dr. Robert McClure, Jr., shouldering his burden when necessary and praying for him without ceasing.
Before full-time ministry, Pastor Dillard was employed for more than 10 years with First Midwest Bank, 8 of which he spent in secondary management as Teller Manager. Managing his team, meeting sales goals, coaching, and ensuring regulatory compliance were just some of his many responsibilities, none of which were more important than his primary responsibility which was vault control. He was responsible for overseeing, counting, distributing, and balancing hundreds of thousands of dollars daily.
On November 14, 2010, he was called to the Senior Pastorate of First Church of God Christian Life Center Evanston, Illinois. Though Pastor Dillard is often called out in many different settings as an Evangelist, Pastoring God’s people remains his passion and top ministry priority. He also works fervently in the Evanston community having been appointed by the Mayor to serve on the City of Evanston’s Equity and Empowerment Commission as well as serving on the Board of Directors and as Chaplain for Evanston Own It, an organization that serves Evanston’s 5th and 2nd wards.
His primary focus is his family. He and his wife Tina are the blessed parents of three daughters, Nia, Kennedi, Morgan & one son, Monté, Jr. Pastor Dillard’s strong belief that the church is only as strong as the family makes maintaining a Godly home his first ministry.
